HYDE-ADDISON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The $47 million investment in new construction and renovations at Hyde-Addison unified the once separate Hyde and Addison buildings with a 30,000-square foot addition to the school. The addition allowed for a new gym, more auditorium space, a main entrance, a welcome center, music and art classrooms, and a fully functional kitchen that can also be used as a classroom. SPD Contracting, Inc. took part in this project performing the following scopes: metal framing, insulation, drywall, acoustical ceilings, and the installation of doors and hardware. The scope of work was performed for District Contracting Group, Inc. who were under contract with MCN Build. Our communication skills and quality of work were displayed as we performed our tasks while both Hyde and Addison were still in full character. Taking into consideration that both the Hyde and Addison buildings have been stamped as historic structures in Georgetown, the building was designated to be LEED Silver or better.
